What are some small (gentle and sweet) things that have a big impact reinforcing any D/s relationship?

Some things that immediately come to mind:

• Constant communication. This seems obvious but it is so so so very important and I think gets taken for granted.
• Consistent reward/punishment system. One cannot exist without the other and both are of equal importance. Pure reward and he/she’ll be a spoiled brat. Pure punishment and he/she won’t feel loved and cherished.
• Rules. Both normal day to day and special rules, they are crucial to a strong D/s relationship. And stay on top of it!
• Consistent reminders of status. This means doing/saying little things throughout the day to remind sub of his/her place in your relationship.
• Aftercare. This is such a huge one and I can’t believe it still gets overlooked by some members of the D/s community. If you are willing to play out an intense scene with your sub, then you better be equally willing to give them the proper care and attention afterwards.
• P R A I S E. For the love of god tell your sub they’re a good boy/girl. Shower them in kisses and affection. Buy them gifts when they’ve been good all day. Compliment them. PRAISE THEM. Remember that they are not obligated to do what you say and they do it out of love for you.
